Data Visualization Manager
Austin Amandolia is the Data Visualization Manager at Carolina Creative Works, working with the research team to guide and develop visual data, maps, images, interactive dashboards, and other data tools. He also provides additional data analysis, identifies new software solutions, and helps tell stories through data we collect.
Austin holds a Masters of City and Regional Planning program from UNC-Chapel Hill, where he focused on issues of equitable economic development and new urban analytics. He also is an Associate with Broughton Consulting, LLC., which provides consulting services for employee engagement through open book management and business succession planning through employee ownership. Through this work he has assisted in the formation of a new non-profit organization, the North Carolina Employee Ownership Center, focused on educating the North Carolina business community on employee ownership as a business succession strategy. He is a former public-school teacher, current local advocate, has been published for research in Physics, and is an avid podcast listener. Austin’s current volunteer activities include the Durham People’s Alliance Economic Justice Team, the Durham Workers’ Rights Commission, and the Durham Planning Commission.
